Long Box $175.00 (includes tax & shipping)
I have been making paddle calls for about 13 years now and have had very positive feedback from many satisfied customers through the years. My paddle calls have received many awards for their sound including numerous 1st place awards as well as the NWTF Champion of Champion Award back to back in 2014-2015. My paddle call design is significantly longer than my short boxes at just about 12" in length. This design allows for a wider range of sounds out of the call. One of my main goals in producing a quality paddle call is building a call that is easy to run....for anyone. Some long boxes on the market today require you to manipulate the lid to achieve the desired sound. In my opinion, thats' too much thinking when you're working a gobbler. My calls have been known to play easy and require very little experience or practice which is what I strive to achieve with all of my box calls.
The sounds of a paddle call are a bit different than that of short boxes. Paddle calls start off with a high pitched front end whistle that is deadly in the fall turkey woods for Kee Keeing. The back end of a paddle call has a deep raspy Yawp that when played allows for great jake and gobbler yelping. Running the lid along the entire length of the soundboard produces some of the most authentic & realistic mature hen yelps possible from a box call. It has great volume and can be used as a locator or dialed down to produce some very realistic soft talk. Typically, depending on where you run the lid, a paddle call can produce a number of "different hens", meaning that it has numerous different two notes yelps throughout the stroke which allows the user to sound like several different turkey. Anyone who has hunted with a paddle call can tell you that lonely gobblers just can't resist it. Not only can these calls call a bird to the gun but they are awesome locators and have the volume to reach out on those windy days.
